What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Team Lead position at ODW Logistics?
Summary/Objective
The Accounting Team Lead position entails serving as the direct report to for all Accounting Assistants who work at the ODW LTS Hamilton, OH Office Operation as the direct support role on a variety of tasks. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to be a part of our growing company and that can play a vital role in our Accounting Department.
Financial Roles
- Supervise to ensure day to day aging’s, accruals and paperwork are handled
- Train/backup monthly close
- Assist in collection calls
- Responsible for all customer billing & daily invoices or as required via master bill
- Handle all carrier payment and field aging statements from carriers
- Transfer all AR/AP files on a weekly basis to Great Plans
- Create weekly check batches
- Promote and practice of company values (Trust, Team & Opportunities) within team and company
- Oversee ordering of all office supplies
Management Roles
- Manage vacation time of team members
- Manage hours worked for all Non-Exempt employees that report to Team Leader
- Increase personal exposure to outside training, seminars and other activities that can enhance industry knowledge as related to accounting practices
- Adhere to the team building activities annual budget
- Ensure team building activities bring value to the overall team members’ growth and development
Skills and Specifications
- Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated
- Ability to process sort and sift through large amounts of data / invoices quickly
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel primarily)
- Must be willing to learn new skills and technology
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with internal customers

Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma (mandatory)
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- 2-5 years’ experience in Accounting related field is preferred
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Travel
- Position is primarily at the Hamilton, OH office location. If business demands any travel, Management will review with the employee in advance.
Other Information
- Full time position
- 40 hour work week (Monday – Friday only)
- Health, dental and supplementary insurance available on first day of the following month after date of hire.
- 401K enrollment with company match. Available on the first day of the month after completing 90 calendar days of service.
