What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at OERLIKON?
Position Overview:
Manages all activities and interactions of operators within a manufacturing system to ensure Oerlikon’s productivity and quality goals are met. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Position Responsibilities:
- May manage up to 30 people either directly or indirectly
- Manages departmental performance measures (OEE, etc.), accuracy of production/quality records, and provides to leadership team
- Performs investigations regarding non-conformances in safety, quality, and process variations; implements and makes recommendations for permanent corrective actions
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvements in area of responsibility
- Handle all disciplinary actions within areas of responsibility
- Conducts bi-annual employee performance appraisals. Administers all discipline and personnel corrective actions as required. Payroll responsibility for assigned team
- Primary liaison for interactions with all supporting departments (tooling, maintenance, quality, etc.)
- Ensures effective employee relations through communication and strong team work leadership
- Running a disciplined department adhering to Oerlikon policies and procedures
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED (some college preferred)
- Five (5) years manufacturing experience
- One (1) year production manager/supervisor experience preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English - bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- Prefer practical application of lean manufacturing methodologies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
