JOB SUMMARY/ DESCRIPTION
The Osceola County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller is looking to onboard a highly motivated Accounting Intern, that is willing to work in a culture driven by public service. We are looking for a driven Accounting Intern with a basic knowledge of GAAP and financial principles who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our staff, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries, financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about an ERP Financial software, and assist with other accounting tasks. You should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. This Internship pays $12 per hour.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shadow members of the accounting department as they perform their duties
Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and statement of revenues and expenditures and other ad hoc reports
Work with an ERP Financial software
Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
Learn how to work as part of the accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients
Assist with special projects and take on additional tasks to learn more about accounting and office operations
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Aptitude to learn new programs and applications quickly
Strong desire to learn and grow
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a recent graduate or actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
Satisfactory completion of introduction to accounting courses and a basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Able to operate a personal computer, proficient with MS Office to include Excel
GPA of 3.0 or higher
A copy of unofficial transcripts for GPA and/or class requirements may be required
