BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Washington Convention Center and Sport Authority (Events DC). The incumbent is responsible for providing accounting support, primarily in accounts receivable and receivables collections, as part of the Finance team that supports all Events DC business activities. The incumbent also assists accounting and/or financial management personnel with a range of duties relating to complex accounts processing and reconciliation functions. Duties include, but are not limited to; processing daily deposits and related credits to accounts receivable and appropriate general ledger accounts; responsible for reconciling batches to deposit records and maintaining detailed transaction information; entering certified invoices into financial system upon receipt and resolves any account discrepancies; maintaining complete, accurate, and orderly accounts receivable files for all invoices and any other requests for payment records for current and prior years; reviewing accounts receivable transactions and preparing reports; identifying discrepancies and/or corrective entries required to adjust accounts and providing support to the year-end closing process. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s Degree or two (2) years of progressive experience performing duties such as: providing administrative, clerical and/or financial support for an office or agency.  Prior experience processing and reconciling accounts receivable transactions; assisting with preparing reports; and knowledge of accounts receivable policies, procedures, and guidelines is strongly desired. 
Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.

Employment with the OCFO is at will.  However, the discipline and/or discharge of bargaining unit employees is governed by the collective bargaining agreement.

SALARY REDUCTION OF REEMPLOYED ANNUITANTS: 
 
An individual selected for employment in the District Government on or after January 1, 1980, who is receiving an annuity under any District government civilian retirement system, shall have his or her pay reduced by the amount of annuity allocable to the period of employment as a reemployed annuitant.
