JOB SUMMARY
Performs environmental and chemistry-related functions at a power plant to support efficient operation and environmental compliance.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures compliance with safety policies and promotes a safety culture by modeling behaviors consistent with Incident and Injury Free (IIF).
- Performs basic environmental compliance functions.
- Performs basic water treatment operation.
- Performs basic boiler chemistry control and cooling water chemistry control.
- Serve as a technical resource to plant personnel.
- Company representative in Environmental agency inspections (e.g., EPA, ODEQ, Corporation Commission).
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry; Or
- Bachelor's Degree in Science with Two 2 years chemistry experience (i.e. Environmental laboratory, regulatory, Environmental consulting, equivalent military experience, Industrial Environmental, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May require travel.
- May be required to work non-standard work schedules which includes overtime, weekends, holidays, on-call and call-outs.
- May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
- Required to work with multi-crafts crews and other groups.
- May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.

- Basic computer skills using MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to read and understand environmental regulations, company policies and operating procedures.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
- Ability to take on additional responsibility.
- Demonstrates the ability manage plant RCRA waste.
