This is a fantastic full-time, entry-level opportunity in the publishing industry. The Web Service Team is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to help manage our digital content. The Junior SEO Assistant will upload new content to our sites and apps while continuously updating existing online content for our readers. This position is a great way to get started with an eco-minded and diverse company while working with engaging content.
Responsibilities:
- Review and update archived content with search engine optimization (SEO) guidelines
- Copy editing (correcting spelling, grammar, syntax, and using our House Style Guide)
- Regular online content updates using WordPress
- Upload articles to our digital magazine
- Format images using Photoshop and upload
- Update Excel spreadsheets and other spreadsheet record keeping
- Communication via email and Zoom
Qualifications
- A propensity for grammar and writing
- Flexible and eager to learn new software
- Experience with PC basic operations, Word, Excel
- Interest in online content proliferation and general web development
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at the same time
Preferred
- Enthusiasm for our niche topics, including gardening, livestock, tractors and motorcycles
- Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO)
- Background in journalism, English, or mass communications
- Familiarity with basic HTML code
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge and Acrobat
