Business Systems Analyst Lead/Specialist

Position Summary:

Reviews, analyzes, forecasts, and evaluates business functions, operations, processes, and information to develop or modify databases, data models, application systems, analytical tools, or reports in support of business objectives. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships to gather key information required to understand, plan for, and accomplish business objectives. The business systems analyst understands and performs technical functions to configure and maintain reliable, accurate, and performance application systems. The business systems analyst is a bridge between business functions and technical systems development.

Primary Duties:

• Accountable for quality deliverables and measured on re-work needed (example build function could not deliver as defined in solution plan - and needed to be returned).
• Act as a resource for members with less experience, may direct the technical complexities of work.
• Analyze and evaluate current or proposed business procedures or problems to define needs.
• Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes or services.
• Approves the design documents from vendors/partners.
• Available for consultation with Solution Architects on complex solutions in order for the Solution Architect to effectively define High Level Design.
• Consult with vendors/partners and Solution Architects regarding design options and technical feasibility of designed solution.
• Delivers appropriate SDLC deliverables (Solution Plans, and Functional Design) to ensure solutions are clearly defined for build teams.
• Demos solutions to the business customer.
• Determine type of analysis needed to achieve a goal or result and identify the stakeholders of a project or initiative; may lead or act as lead project team.
• Documents how technology will meet the requirements of the requestor.
• Facilitate meetings and provide solutions for complex projects using business acumen.
• Facilitate rapid feedback to help accelerate project delivery and major production issues.
• Lead in identifying appropriate statistical and modeling procedures, metrics, budgetary requirements, and information requirements for Company.
• Maintain understanding of future direction of application system technologies/products and participate in the determination of tactical and strategic upgrades necessary to meet business requirements.
• Manages incidents and on call rotations using troubleshooting procedures.
• Partner with internal network of contacts.
• Perform root cause analysis on various bugs or defects through troubleshooting systems.
• Periodically check for compliance with development standards and provide feedback as needed to vendors/partners and OGE leadership.
• Plan, prioritize, conduct and lead assignments.
• Serve as a source of expertise on reporting systems and data sources.
• Serve as project or case manager in the development, analysis, presentation, and completion of business projects.
• Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
• Support multiple, complex, and/or advanced application systems and business processes.
• Support technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required and compatibility with current systems.
• Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.
• Ensure the build functions have what they need to deliver.
• Work with OGE leadership to ensure the build functions have the appropriate skill set.
• Write functional business requirements, implementation plans, documentation, and procedures leveraging attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline, And 6 years experience as a Developer, System Administrator, QA Engineer/Tester, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or technical discipline;.
• High School Diploma/GED And 8 years experience as a Developer, System Administrator, QA Engineer/Tester, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or technical discipline..

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Business Analyst with Project Management credentials and/or skills

• Strong ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.
• Highly detailed level interactions with vendor partners to ensure delivery is satisfactory.
• Solid ability to consistently maintain a high level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information.
• Proven high-level customer service skills applicable to working with the leadership team and other key stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment using computer equipment including a keyboard, mouse and computer monitor.
• Sedentary to light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
