Greenhouse Tech 3

Supports Oglebay’s aquaponic and food production program by assisting the Greenhouse Supervisor and Manager with the day-to-day operations as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists in maintaining hydroponic systems.
• Assists with plant propagation.
• Transplants plants into various containers
• Maintains the cleanliness of the greenhouse and growing systems.
• Assists with harvesting, packaging and plant storage.
• Assists with maintaining raised planter beds, crops and other plantings in terrace garden.
• Monitors greenhouse temperatures, adjusts vents.
• Scout and monitor pest and disease populations in greenhouse.
• Water and prune plants
• Assist with maintaining plant material inside of Wilson Lodge and other areas of the park.
• Assists with conducting greenhouse tours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
