Position Summary
The Indianapolis office of Ogletree Deakins, a premier, global, labor and employment law firm representing management in all types of employment-related matters for employers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 50 companies, has an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the firm’s expanding practice. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced work environment; be experienced in trial preparation in state and federal courts, including cutting-edge and class and collective action litigation, self-directed, and highly organized, have a strong attention to detail, and embrace technology. The paralegal assists with all aspects of the discovery and litigation process; investigates facts, propounds and responds to discovery, prepares third party subpoenas and prepares documents for filing in both Federal and State courts; conducts legal research and cite-checks briefs; reviews, redacts and prepares documents for production; maintains and organizes documents; and prepares calendar deadlines and assists with all aspects of pre-trial and trial preparation.
Essential Functions
- Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters.
- Summarizes legal documents.
- Organizes and indexes case files.
- Determines and calendars deadlines.
- Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation.
- Files pleadings with court electronically.
- Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints.
- Drafts a variety of legal documents.
- Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file.
- Prepares for mediations, depositions, and trials.
- Assists Attorneys at trial.
- Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions.
- Communicates with witnesses and experts as well as legal services vendors.
- Proofread all documents and cite check/bluebook briefs.
- Conduct document review and prepare/manage document productions.
- Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner.
Requirements

- 6 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably for a large employment litigation practice.
- Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university is preferred.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Relativity, Document Management System, expense and billing systems.
