General Plant Manager

Job Summary/Purpose:

The General Plant Manager will direct, manage, and optimize the overall performance of our truck refurbishing facility located in Clyde, Ohio. This candidate will build policies and processes and make decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of plant operations. This individual establishes systems to collect metrics, analyze productivity, and set performance targets that are in line with company goals. Will lead the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement, while ensuring robust plant safety and security procedures that are in compliance with all required regulations. This individual will support a staff of <100 employees (and growing) which includes various departments including cosmetic/body work, paint booths, and mechanical service bays.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for the overall process creation, KPI execution, team member development, and long-term planning
• Develop standard operating procedures for the production, fabrication, and service functions
• Lead, manage, and hold accountable department activities to achieve KPIs
• Foster a productive and safe work environment
• Ability to recruit, develop, train, recognize and retain talented members
• Profitability owner for organizational production process
• Responsible for regulatory compliance i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.
• Develop and maintain safety initiatives, proper PPE usage, and good housekeeping practices
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized and attention to detail
• Experience handling small to medium size batches of custom orders
• Vast knowledge of Lean & Continuous Improvement processes
• Communicates effectively of all directives, policies, or procedures to managers. Conduct meetings with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions and maintain morale of the staff
• Liaison between departments to develop financial plans to ensure company-wide operational compliance
• Projects a positive image of the organization to internal employees, external customers, and the community

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

• 10 years Operations experience desired
• 8 years leadership desired
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and/or semi-truck or trailer repairs, refurbishment or fabrication preferred
