Description
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving hot/cold beverages and fulfilling food orders. The Barista’s responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, provide exceptional customer service, stocking, sanitation, and follows established health and safety standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders.
- Preparing and serving beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate ones.
- Serving food items such as sandwiches, salads, pastries, ect.
- Answering customers’ questions about menu choices.
- Promoting and recommending menu options to customers.
- Taking payment from customers.
- Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and scheduling repairs.
- Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized.
- Cleans dining room and tables, e.g. vacuums, wipes, washes, dust, etc.
- Adheres to sanitation and safety policies.
- Adheres to alcoholic beverage control policies and regulations. Maintains a valid NM Alcohol Server Permit and NM Food Handler Certificate and keeps it on person or in purse at all times.
- Other job duties assigned.

Requirements
- Valid NM Alcohol Server Permit and NM Food Handler Certificate is required.
- Punctuality and reliability are critical.
- Ability to work proactively to ensure the best possible guest experience.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays is required.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment where the pace may vary.
- Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to write neatly in English.
