Position Summary: Oversees the responsibilities of the other Quality Assurance employees during pre-operational activities. Works with sanitation employees, both internal and contracted, on getting equipment and lines released. Fills in for the supervisor as needed.
- Assists with the release of the plant for production activities.
- Verifies/checks pallets of raw materials for label verifications.
- Verifies/checks all boot rinse stations for acceptable ppm readings of chemical.
- Verifies that the necessary/applicable equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
- Responsible for monitoring all product attributes according to processing specifications.
- Responsible for monitoring and documenting applicable HACCP, GMP and SSOP requirements.
- Responsible for identifying and isolating questionable product.
- Oversees the checking of rat traps, bug lights, and pre-operational paperwork.
- Occasionally oversees the checking of raw material for foreign objects or material.
- Monitors compliance of GMPs, SSOP, and other Food Safety policies and guidelines.
- Assigns duties to QA Techs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
