OCADVSA Job Description
Executive Director
I. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT a. Exempt, professional management position; work hours flexible, depending on the needs of the job. b. OCADVSA Personnel Policies and Procedures (Employee Handbook) takes effect on date of hire. c. Salary: dependent on experience and education. d. All OCADVSA employees are employed on an "at-will" basis. Employment at OCADVSA is for an indefinite period of time and is terminable at any time, with or without cause being shown, by either the employee or OCADVSA. e. Reports to the Human Resource Committee Chair.
II. AUTHORITY
By the authority delegated by the OCADVSA Board of Directors the Executive Director (ED) has full discretionary power to execute and effect the by-laws, policies, and directives of the OCADVSA Board of Directors.
III. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years supervisory and management skills and/or a combination of education and experience is preferred. Knowledge of and work in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking is also preferred
IV. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive Director: a. has overall responsibility to ensure that program objectives are clearly stated and that program activities are focused on achievement of stated goals; b. support and mentor staff in their duties, as well as provide professional development opportunities that build cross-promotional skills. c. advocate individually and systematically on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking, including adherence to OCADVSA mission statement and values. d. implements the policy directives emanating from the Board of Directors; and e. assumes the overall leadership role in guiding all administrative, fiscal and public relations activities of OCADVSA and is responsible for the following specific areas of the program:
1. Program Planning, Development, and Evaluation
2. Fiscal Management
3. Environment
4. Personnel
5. Reports
6. Other Duties as Assigned
Program Planning, Development, and Evaluation
It is the ED's responsibility to plan and develop programs as funded by the funding agencies and approved by the Board of Directors. The main planning, development, and evaluation functions include: a. Initiation or change of policy or program funding allocations as directed by the Board of
Directors to be submitted to the granting agencies.

b. Public relations including representing OCADVSA at the Oklahoma State Legislature,
Oklahoma Native organizations, and to the national, state, and local domestic violence and sexual assault communities. c. Advocate for policy and practices focused on empowering and protecting survivors. d. Development of agreements with partnering agencies and organizations e. Working closely with the appropriate public and private funding sources f. Preparing grants and contracts for initial or continued funding for approval by the Board of
Directors. g. Developing and implementing evaluations of program goals, and objectives. h. Provide Board of Directors with updated program changes. i. Further implementation and guidance of the ED's duties and responsibilities will be found in the by-laws of the corporation and Employee Handbook.
Fiscal Management
The Executive Director shall assist, advise and act for the Board of Directors in the following: a. Develop an annual budget for review and approval by the Board of Directors; ensure that expenditures are within the budgeted amounts; and prepare budget revisions as needed through the year. b. Authorize purchase orders, vouchers and payments within parameters set in the by-laws and budgets. c. Maintain an inventory of agency property and protect all such property. d. Administer contracts as approved by the Board of Directors. e. Further implementation and guidance of the ED's fiscal duties and responsibilities will be found in OCADVSA Financial Policies and will be in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Environment
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the following environmental standards are met: a. Establishment of an environment that enhances the positive self-image of the staff and membership, preserves human dignity and adheres to the principles of ethical communication. b. Equipping and maintaining an environment that ensures the health and safety of the staff, membership and visitors.
Personnel
The Executive Director is authorized to transact all personnel actions subject to the Personnel Policies and Procedure (Employee Handbook), and to report such actions as necessary to the Chair of the Human
Resouce Committee. The Executive Director is responsible for: a. Recruitment, hiring, staffing, and supervision of all personnel. b. Being available for counseling and coaching c. Ensuring that performance evaluations of all staff are completed according to the Personnel
Manual. d. Determining the need for travel and training of all employees, and approval or denial of staff e. Travel and training requests consistent with the travel and training budget approved by the
Human Resource Committee. f. Promotion, demotion, disciplinary action, termination and exit interviews, in accordance with the Employee Handbook. g. Annual review and update of Employee Handbook and all job descriptions for Human
Resource Committee consideration. h. All records and other materials relating to staff shall be kept in a locked file under the direction of the ED.
Reports
The Executive Director is responsible for all reports required by funding sources or the Board of
Directors. Such reports include, but are not limited to, the following:

a. Regular reports at Board of Directors meetings b. Monthly financial reports c. Minutes of all staff meetings d. Copies of all state, federal, and local audit and other reports e. Other reports as requested by Human Resource Committee
Other Duties as Assigned
The Executive Director shall perform other duties as prescribed by the OCDVSA Human Resource
Committee and Board of Directors.
V. DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
The Executive Director may delegate duties, responsibilities, and authority to carry out functions within the parameters of the Employee Handbook.
