What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Mentor position at OLD COLONY YMCA?
The Community Based Program is looking for energetic and flexible staff who have a passion to make a difference for children and families in our communities. The capacity to balance both support to parents/caretakers and mentor responsibilities for youth who are involved with the Department of Children and Families and/or the Department of Mental Health Children's Services is essential. The Community Mentor will be comfortable working independently, and as part of a team, in both an adolescent therapeutic group environment and with a caseload of assigned individual youth and family consumers. The ability to build a strong rapport and communicate with youth, families, state agency workers, and collateral resources in person and by phone, email, and virtual technology is necessary. Basic computer skills are also required.
