Job description
The RALLY Program is an Independent Living program run by the Old Colony Y, funded by the Mass. Dept of Youth Services. Up to 8 youth ages 18-22 are housed in apartments across the northeast region of the state. The Director has a direct caseload of up to four clients and is also responsible for various administrative aspects of the program. These include training, hiring, payroll etc. Ability to work with others in a small team environment is a must.
Job Functions:
- Development of a housing network of public and private housing entities and landlords
- Collaborate with DYS staff to assist youth with their needs, overcome barriers, and assist with developing self-sufficiency goals
- Review youth income and expenses, credit histories, and CORI/criminal background checks in order to determine potential barriers
- Conduct workshops and/or life skills groups and individual meetings
- Complete program intakes and discharge/transition plans
- Maintain up-to-date client records
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings as requested
- Conduct site inspections and apartment searches as needed
- Enter youth progress notes into online database
- Provide on call coverage on evenings and weekends
- Transport clients to and from appointments, interviews, etc.
- Assist in purchasing supplies and furnishing apartments
- Maintain and submit expense reports to business office to ensure proper payments
Education/Experience/Physical Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Related Field
- 2 years' experience in juvenile justice programs
- Must be able to drive and have current valid drivers license and vehicle
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit down, stand up, walk up and down stairs and bend over during the course of the day.
