Job Summary
The Center for Advising for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships has an opening for the position of full-time, 12 month Academic Success Coordinator. The coordinator, reporting to the Director of Advisor Support and Completion Initiatives, will coordinate student engagement and success programs in the University to include the Early Alert Response System and other programs for upperclassmen in academic difficulty.
- The position is also responsible for developing retention initiatives that will assist all students in achieving academic success.
- The advisor is expected to teach at least one section of the University 111, Sophomore Seminar each fall semester.
- The individual will also meet individually with students who have low GPA and are in jeopardy of not returning to the University or their intended major.
- The position will develop and offer strategic data-driven campaigns for students in academic difficulty.
- This position will oversee faculty advisor training and provide leadership for the Annual College Majors Fair.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree required, preferably in Counseling or Higher Education.
- Prior advising/counseling experience is required, preferably in a college or university setting.
- Experience in counseling and advising students in academic difficulty. Excellent interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
- Experience with continuance policies and data-driven retention initiatives.
- Effective organizational skills; versatility and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Ability to multi-task and attend to details and completing job requirements in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience using a CRM to identify at-risk students and demonstrated knowledge of how to implement such a tool to improve student retention.
Preferred Qualifications
- Considerable experience in counseling and advising students in academic difficulty.
- Considerable academic advising experience in a higher education setting.
