Director of Fundraising

Job Summary:

The Director of Fundraising will drive the success of Old Town Hot Springs current fundraising campaign while planning and implementing longer-term goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Primary focus is to acquire donations for funding capital projects and operational programming.

· Partners with Marketing Director to represent and promote OTHS’s mission, purpose, and priorities in the community.

• Builds relationships and engagement with local community partners and service providers.
• Expands current list of potential financial donors including corporations, foundations, and individuals. Owns outreach and donation request from this list.
• Plans fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization.
• Research potential sources of, and applies for, grants and public funding.
• Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals.
• Produces relevant and informative fundraising literature for distribution to previous donors and the public.
• Oversees the fundraising process and partners with the Administrative Director to maintain records of receipts and disbursements of funds.
• Attends Operations Meetings alongside Senior Leadership Team.
• Supports currently established fundraising campaign and sets longer-term goals.
• This position will be on-site at OTHS facility in Steamboat Springs, CO.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
• Innate connections in Steamboat Springs community.
• Sales experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal & networking skills.
• Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or similar field.
• Five years of experience in fundraising for a nonprofit organization highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Salary and Benefits:

• $80,000 – $100,000 based on experience
