Summary
This position is responsible for expeditiously dispatching drivers for deliveries improving service, maximizing equipment utilization and cost reduction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Dispatcher will work closely with all trucking companies employed by Anchor to deliver products in a safe and expeditious manner to all customers
- This position will work closely with the customer service representatives at each location to understand the products availability and logistic issues of specific projects on a daily basis
- This position will work with 3 to 4 customer service representatives involved with taking orders and planning the shipments from each location
- Prepares invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documents and assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries
- Maintains radio contact with drivers to expedite deliveries
- Dispatcher will be responsible for organizing and tracking all fleet repairs and services
- Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or organization employees
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
