Essential Functions*
- Design mechanical equipment for new and existing industrial systems.
- Design and evaluate alternative components and strategies for new and existing equipment to improve efficiency, product quality and/or performance, and reduce cost.
- Develop, manage, and support capital projects.
- Create mechanical specifications for new equipment.
- To ensure new equipment conforms to specifications work closely with vendors throughout quotation, design, and build.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Direct and coordinate internal and external personnel on the installation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
- Support all mechanical utility systems, including domestic and process water distribution, interior plumbing, industrial waste collection/disposal, cooling/chilled water systems, hot water generation/distribution, HVAC systems, Hazardous Location Systems.
Position Requirements*
- Bachelor of Science** degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum five years of related work experience.
- Experience in heavy industrial plants and/or DoD locations preferred.
- Working knowledge of Codes, Standards, Specifications for new building design and construction.
- Familiarity with DoD requirements – UFCs, Army Regs, DoD Safety Manuals, etc. preferred.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies
