Essential Functions*:
- Achieve overall operations goals while providing constant improvement on equipment and technicians.
- Provide maintenance support within the Department for operations, engineering and maintenance.
- Develop and implement engineering projects with assistance from process engineer.
- Create new Procedures when needed and help keep current Procedures updated.
- Help provide immediate assistance on major Safety, Quality and Downtime issues associated with machine malfunctions.
- Can briefly fill in to cover production floor when Supervision is not available.
- Manage Preventive Maintenance paperwork and assignments for department.
- Manage the control of communication devices for the Department.
- Maintain the semiannual Shutdown Projects List.
- Some design work may be required.
Position Requirements*:
- Associate’s degree** in mechanical engineering or minimum 5 years hands of experience working on and repairing industrial machinery.
- Self-motivated and can work independently when required.
- Good communication and documentation skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and basic people and leadership skills.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and an understanding of control systems.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of schematics and drawings.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Experience with Inventor or similar computer-generated drawing program.
- Experience developing/creating and implementing brand new processes.
- Proficient with basic hand and power tools. Machining experience a plus.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
