What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Strategist position at OLIVER North America?
About the role:
As a Content Strategist on the OLIVER team, you’ll be leading the alignment of creative messaging with customer needs and industry and cultural trends across a number of categories (CPG, Retail, Fashion, Spirits, to name a few), with expertise in reaching the Black audience and bringing those insights. You will be responsible for strategy and development of social content, partnering with creatives and account teams.
You’re a natural storyteller who can understand client briefs, identify unspoken needs, and distill information in a clear and actionable manner. You can translate the highest-level brand priorities to all levels of deliverables including lower funnel tactics. Ultimately, you will ensure we are delivering the most relevant messaging possible to customers at all points in their journey.
What you will be doing:
- Work closely with clients to plan an approach for key initiatives
- Develop inspiring strategies to implement comprehensive content across multiple categories and projects
- Work with agency team to conceptualize ideas, creating alignment on overarching business and consumer objectives
- Foster team guidance and inspiration across brands digital ecosystems
- Keep up to date with industry news and best practices across social platforms
- Bring a modern approach and holistic view across customer experience
- Define and analyze industry trends to steer strategy in a solutions-oriented manner
- Present work and articulate ideas in a client facing capacity
- Help to input and develop content calendars across social, web and CRM platforms to create continuity and strong online presence
What you need to be great in this role:
- 6 years experience as a Strategist or Content Strategist, or similar role
- A portfolio demonstrating your ability to understand the needs of the business and consumer
- A passion for digital trends and working knowledge of channels, audience behavior and best practices
- Ability to synthesize complex information or broad ideas into simple and actionable insights
- Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience strategically leading a cross-discipline team
- A team player mindset with a client centric focus and the ability to build strong and effective working relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude
- For roles that will be performed in New York City, this is the pay range $115,000 - $125,000

Compensation will be determined on various factors including but not limited to geographic location, qualifications, experience, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business and/or client needs. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package for our employees.
