Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: Store Manager
Our Mission at Olsens is to provide our customers with the knowledge, service and products that promote the optimum health of their animals in such a way the customer experience exceeds expectations.
General Purpose of Position:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting and supporting the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store, while maintaining outstanding customer service, as per Company standards, as well as safeguarding Company assets.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
> Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes: greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining superior standards, solid product knowledge, and all other aspects of exceptional customer service.
> Maintains an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
> Assists Cashiers in accurately and efficiently processing sales on registers, special orders, returns, deliveries, and charge accounts.
> Assists Store Manager in processing customer and employee requests.
> Oversees accurate and efficient transactions on registers, and maintains all tenders at the registers.
> Communicates with sales representatives as necessary.
> Maintains an orderly appearance of register area and store.
> Demonstrates excellent sales ability both on the telephone and on the floor. Strives to increase Store income by both cross-selling and up-selling products that are helpful to customer.
> Assists customers by offering to carry merchandise to their vehicle.
> Any other tasks as assigned, from time-to-time, by the Store Manager or the General Manager.
Skills and Competencies:
> Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system.
> Effectively communicate with associates and customers.
> Ability to read, count, and write in order to accurately complete all documentation correctly.
> Safely operate forklift, and all equipment necessary to perform the job.
> Ability to multi-task.
Requirements:
> Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights (e.g., special events, trainings, Equifest, seminars), weekends, and holidays, as needed.
> Physical ability to stand for extended periods. Regularly & repetitively lift 50 lb. bags. Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, squatting, and bending.
> Forklift certification.
> Propane dispensing certification, if store sells propane.
> Perform all functions as set forth above.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
