What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Parking Srvs. Attendant, Parking position at Olympia Parking?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for proper parking or alternative parking for all Ilitch companies’ venues. Ensure guests will experience quality service and attention. Evaluate and address issues or complaints within parameters established by management. This position will assist the supervisor in providing work direction to parking attendants, training new attendants and monitoring performance. This position is likely the “first face” of the organization for events, games, concerts or other events at all venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proper parking, guest directions, alternative parking or relocation of vehicles for multiple lots, garages and decks. This includes directing traffic to other areas and providing directions to guests to venues or restaurants
- Ensure quality service and a positive guest experience at all lots/decks and venues
- Manage and respond to escalated customer service issues from parking attendants
- Responsible for monitoring parking areas and conveying feedback to parking attendants to ensure vehicles are properly parked and secured as well as space and revenue maximized
- Respond to unexpected events and handling special events that impact parking operations
- Address and troubleshoot issues with PARCS (Parking Access Revenue Control System)
- Responsible for issuing citations to illegal parkers
- Assist with providing work direction, training, interpretation of and explaining policies and procedures and monitoring performance of parking attendants
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures as well as ensuring safety for guests and colleagues at parking lots/decks
- Assist with traffic direction as needed and responsible for post event egress plans
- Perform cash handling functions when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Associate degree in Business or Operations and 2 years’ experience in parking services or event management. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing formal or informal work direction or supervision
- Strong understanding of how to utilize and troubleshoot technology. Working knowledge of parking equipment (i.e. PARCS) preferred.
- Evidence of ability to read, understand and convey technical documents, including but not limited to policies, safety procedures, maintenance instructions and manuals
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate to a wide variety of audience at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math concepts (multiply, divide, percentages, etc.)
- Evidence of problem-solving ability and ability to make decisions based on solid business judgments and experience
- Previous experience in a position requiring attention to detail, accuracy, prioritizing and being able to multi-task
- Computer proficiency (preferably in Excel)
- Maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s license with good driving record
Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience in the parking industry preferred
- Previous experience with timekeeping systems (I.E. Timeclock, Kronos, etc.)
- Experience in the sports & entertainment industry preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Able to move 100 lbs.
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extended periods of standing
- Frequent interruptions and distractions due to noise, traffic, etc.
- Exposure to moderate-high noise level
- Frequent visual/auditory attention
