The Executive Director of Global Product Marketing will be part of the Global Customer Solutions Business Unit (CSBU), which is part of the Endoscopic Solutions Division for Olympus. In this capacity, the candidate will be tasked to develop global and cross divisional product solution strategies and manage the portfolio cluster of products within the AI and CAD space. This role will be managing a team of product directors, managers and analysists to ensure we are delivering critically required solutions to the market that will be adopted by our customers globally. Strategies also need to fit into the larger medical business and Digital strategy of Olympus. This will include identifying the overall strategy and associated requirements to be successful at growing Olympus share in and continuing to grow as a global player in the digital space. This will include heavy collaboration with Global CS BU's, Regional Sales Business Units, R&D Digital Unit, and the Manufacturing Business Centers to develop and implement aligned strategies and tactics focused on the successful commercial launch penetration and profitability of the business. The candidate will be directly leading a Global Product Management team focused on new product solutions and sustaining initiatives. This includes identification of future business opportunities, unmet customer needs, value proposition, commercialization plans and launch activities. Activities also encompass the life cycle management of legacy products. The candidate will need to focus heavily on building skill sets and capabilities across the department. Some of the key areas of focus include forging strong partnerships with global Healthcare Professionals, expertise in identification of user requirements, voice of customer feedback, clinical knowledge value proposition, health economic awareness business case development and the execution of global strategies. This candidate will also play a role in managing product budget spend, identifying upstream marketing needs, GTM strategies with the goal of delivering a product that will drive revenue and healthy profitability.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader, strategically minded and self-motivated with excellent analytic, facilitation and communication skills (both oral and written).

Job Duties

  • Responsible for developing key product strategies for the CSBU to serve all Global Markets.
  • Leading governance and communications to global key stakeholders and product sponsors
  • Business case development and project/initiative proposals from diligence discovery and early-stage research projects as well as setting the direction for R&D.
  • Developing ROI's and Business Plans to support the request of budget funding · Work hand in hand with the Business Development organization and be a key part of decision making for potential M&A activities.
  • Accountability for developing product strategy and vision.
  • Responsible for the budgeting of product requirements.
  • Engaged with product development at a high level and partnering with Digital Unit and R&D.
  • Accountable for holistic product vision across all products and business units.
  • Responsible for the definition of MVPs extending product into multiple versions continuously.
  • Coordinate the split of requirements into system parts and into other related products with the support of the architect and product owners.
  • Responsible for business themes, features, and epics definition.
  • Discovery teams to ensure resource allocation is coordinated with business growth opportunities that align with the strategy.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate and lead direct reports to deliver on key objectives consistent with annual business plan and corporate initiatives driving the execution of key deliverables within the new product development process & ensuring successful product launches across all global geographies.
  • Develop and maintain expertise across the commercial solutions team as the product and clinical specialist by attending procedures, courses, workshops, tradeshows and staying abreast of market dynamics competitive landscape and global industry trends.
  • Manage portfolio budgets and project spend across the team.
  • Working with the DU, prioritize products, features, and functions for the GTM strategy and R&D spend.
  • Partner with BU Heads/Leaders to ensure VOC is collected and business needs are balanced along with customer requirements.
  • Lead a team comprised of Product Marketing Directors, Sr. Managers, Managers, Solution Managers.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 15 year's business experience (product management).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in preferably a global role.
  • Travel a minimum of 25 % (including international).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work from home required.
  • Other projects and duties as necessary and assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to different audiences including experience presenting to Executive Management Teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Excellent influence facilitation and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience leading early stage development teams including development of business case financial, modelling, reimbursement how we win strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills; with demonstrated financial and strategic capabilities.
  • Expertise in user requirement identification, customer input, VOC & market research.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and aptitude; comfortable in working with physicians the clinical environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and a drive for results.
  • Highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift responding well under pressure and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance.
