Overview
If you are passionate about television broadcasting, live in the Palm Beach area, and have a keen eye for detail, then we would love to hear from you! Olympusat is looking for a Master Control Operator for the overnight (third) shift.
As a Master Control Operator you will be responsible for ensuring that our television broadcasts are of the highest quality while complying with policies and procedures. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our viewers receive the best possible experience.
To be successful in this role, you should have an Associates Degree in Broadcasting, Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. You should also have at least 1 year of experience using IT equipment and troubleshooting, and have a keen to enter, learn, and grow in the broadcast industry.
The selected candidate will receive paid training during the first and second shift before being assigned to the night (third) shift.
Schedule: Third/overnight shift / 10hrs shift (7:00pm-5:00am) / Four days a week.
Hourly rate: $16.83/hr
Shift differential: $0.75/hr
Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aggressive monitoring of network transmissions for quality control.
- Troubleshoots technical difficulties with play out system and takes appropriate action in consultation with the Master Control Supervisor to ensure continuous on-air operation of cable channels and other online delivery channels.
- Generates and executes play lists on automation system.
- Solve/troubleshoot problems in a crisis situation (i.e., computer/equipment malfunction or failure).
- Submit a shift report detailing on-air activity (errors or discrepancies encountered, etc.)
- Reads television programming log to ascertain name of program or station break, and at what time program or station break is scheduled to air.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Associates degree in a Technology or related field is a plus but not required
- 1 year experience troubleshooting IT equipment
- Interest in the Broadcast industry
- Technology/Computer savvy.
- Ability to work within a strict deadline.
- Ability to perform with accuracy while under pressure and without direct supervision.
- This position is for 3rd shift, therefore must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays (paid).
