Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. Effective sourcing is of vital importance to OMG based on the significant investment we make in materials and components key to our production process. The MRO/Associate Buyer is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Department with all administrative functions. This key position will have experience
in a purchasing environment and the ability to process data, organize work, and the ability to multi-task. The MRO/Associate Buyer will be responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw material, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising.
Position Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
- Create and prepare purchase orders from requisitions or statement of work.
- Data entry and other administrative duties.
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers and confirm delivery date, quantity ordered and price accuracy.
- Execute daily activities to support procurement processes.
- Contact suppliers to obtain product or service information, validate pricing and ship dates.
- Maintain up-to-date delivery dates in system and follow-up on late deliveries and backordered items.
- Communicate with other departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing,
- Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports and other records pertaining to the items or
inventories, as applicable.
- Research and approve payment or resolution on invoice and receiving discrepancies.
- Participate in continuous improvement activity related to efficiency, transaction improvement, cost reduction, and quality.
- Work with suppliers to expedite delivery of goods to users.
- Stay current on purchasing best practices and tools.
- Meet with suppliers alongside Buyer, Sr. Buyer or Commodity Manager.
- Have category responsibility with oversight from upper levels.
- Participate in Lean events.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Associate's degree and prior experience in a purchasing/supply chain environment.
- 2 – 5 years' experience in a procurement environment, experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Travel Requirements: Limited to 10% (some overnight).
- Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and influence cross functional teams effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment,
- Exceptional PC skills using the full MS Office Suite.

Compensation: Starting $60,000
