Job Overview:
This position will support NASA’s Swift flight operations team. The Swift intern will be responsible for migrating existing MS Access databases to SQL databases on a Windows 10 server as well as developing a database synchronization process. In addition the Swift intern will be responsible for developing new SQL database UI’s that are similar in appearance and functionality to the existing Access database UI’s.
A secondary intern task would be to migrate data from Bugzilla, a web-based general-purpose bug tracking system for NASA’s ICESat-2 mission, to the web based Atlassian JIRA work management tool.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field and possesses the following skills:
- Self-starter/highly motivated individual required
- Understanding of basic database principles
- Understanding of basic DB UI development
- Understanding of MS Access and/or SQL is a PLUS.

Job Location: This position is located in State College, PA or the Beltsville, MD. The preferred candidate will be local to one of these two geographical areas area. Or be willing to relocate temporarily. A laptop will be provided. This is not a tele-work internship.
Schedule: 40 hours per week through the summer. Highly successful interns have the potential to continue working for Omitron part-time during the school year with some flexibility around their school schedule.
