About the position:
The Field Operations Supervisor is responsible for outside plant fiber installation, installation of customer premise, and overall field management regarding installing and servicing fiber to the home customers. This Field Operations Supervisor is accountable for the in-house and third-party installation teams. This position has authority to allocate resources and make installation and service repair decisions for the assigned area in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides and Contractual commitments.
What you will do:
- Serves as single point of contact between the Area Manager and field.
- Providing oversight of installation, service repairs, special projects, and overall operational functions and ensures proper execution.
- Must be able to maintain and manage subcontractor relationships. Assuring that work is performed in accordance with contract requirements.
- Must track and coordinate material delivery to field, ensure proper accountability of delivered materials to ensure costs are maintained.
- Provide coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews for field operations employees.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive performance evaluations are complete and on time.
- Reports performance data as required to management.
- Supervise overtime, contract labor for repairs, and materials issued for repairs.
- Ensure all associated contractor/vendor invoices are verified and correctly coded.
- Regularly meet with the warehouse supervisor to ensure that adequate levels of materials are ordered and stocked in inventory to meet the requirements of the department activities.
- Meet field technicians and contractors at installation sites, inspect work to ensure the quality of the installations and service repairs are met and or exceeded.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of relevant fiber-to-home telecommunication experience
- Supervisory experience preferred but not required
- Must be knowledgeable in quality fiber installation and service practices.
- A working understanding of supervising third party contract labor.
- Demonstrated ability to be consistent with performance management and goal attainment.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and minimum state required auto insurance policy.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
