GENERAL SUMMARY
With limited supervision, this position will assist users having problems with use of system software or hardware. May provide training to computer operators to use system applications. Install, configure, and/or upgrade applications, computers, monitors, and peripherals. Assist with planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems. Maintain and administer existing hardware and software inventory, IT department documentation, and maintenance agreements. Assist in maintaining telephone systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitor system logs. Maintain backup library.
Assist computer operators to resolve technical problems with equipment and data. Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network (local area network including VPN and remote access) and peripheral equipment.
Provide centralized help desk support to facilitate exchange of information and advice.
Maintain trouble ticket database, providing regular reports to administrative staff.
Assist in instructing staff in the use of standard and administrative software, including word processing, spreadsheets and dbms gui front-end.
Provide information applications related training.
Support and manage computer based equipment including but not limited to desktops, laptops, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, switches, routers, network attached medical equipment and printers.
Pull cables and rewire or direct the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
Develop and maintain documentation of legacy applications.
Maintain IT hardware asset schedules.
Install telephones and instruct users in use of telephone features.
Interact with software and hardware vendor support personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires a high level of energy and regular consistent attendance.
Must be able to problem solve and research with little or no supervision.
Lifting parts and fixtures that weigh 30 to 80 pounds, and performing bending operations is requisite.
Must be able to climb ladders and enter dropped ceilings.
Must have ability to perceive differences in wire and cable colors
Limited personal transportation to remote sites required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical support and software troubleshooting
- Experience in computer management
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computer networking
- Knowledge of IT support, desktop support, VPN, and firewall
- Understanding of TCP, SCCM, GPO, and Mac OS
- Ability to work with VPN, cabling, LAN, and software troubleshooting

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
