Overview
The PGA of America is moving to Frisco, Texas – the "2018 Best Place to Live in America” - where it will anchor a 600-acre, mixed-use, golf-centric development, including the golf club, future Omni resort and PGA headquarters. Currently under construction, the golf club will feature two championship golf courses, a 10-hole short course, a two-acre putting course and a 37-acre practice facility. The future two-story clubhouse will offer golfers and guests alike a 19th hole restaurant, private dining on the second floor overlooking the fairways, upscale lounges and locker rooms and a golf shop designed to entice all levels of fans from PGA tournament players to weekend golfers and other enthusiasts.
Job Description
Club 1916 sits within Fields Ranch clubhouse and is within the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, a public resort facility. The Director of Membership is responsible for the overall operations of the activation, retention, and engagement of Members, while maximizing the revenue generated by the membership department, and maintaining membership records. A successful candidate should be able to think broadly and analyze the Club’s position and industry trends to make appropriate recommendations to the Club General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Engages in outbound sales efforts through networking, attending business association functions, referrals from existing business clients, and lead generation.
- Responsible for achieving sales/profit goals.
- Provides property tours in an effort to sell the merits of the club’s facilities to prospects.
- Works with the Club General Manager to create marketing materials and collateral.
- Develops sales budgets and marketing plans including sales strategies in conjunction with the overall club plan approved by the Club General Manager.
- Develop and execute a professional sales presentation, which highlights the benefits of membership.
- Evaluate market reactions to membership programs. Ensure the timely adjustments of marketing strategies and plans are proactively formulated and implemented to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
- Maintain a high profile with the existing membership by attending Club functions and other activities, which are attended by members
- Utilize CRM tools to effectively manage and maximize our contact database for lead follow up and communication
- Provide Club General Manager with weekly and monthly reports summarizing all marketing and sales efforts, results and forecasts.
- Participates in promotional/outside activities that are judged appropriate by the Club General Manager to enhance the presence of the property in the local community
- Achieve annual membership dues and initiation fee goals.
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Membership Department budget, while effectively controlling all marketing expenses to insure optimum operating profit.
- Submit monthly reports to Executive Committee on a timely basis.
- Help develop and coordinate member programs with the appropriate department heads.
- Develop marketing strategies and oversee execution of calendar, website, all print media, social media, newsletter, surveys and email communication.
- Stay current on and abide by all Policies and Procedures of the club and resort.
- Participate in daily stand ups and staff meetings.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work of Membership associates.
- Ensure Membership Department maintains impeccable records on each member.
- Responsible for evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining Membership associates.
- Address and resolve member issues, complaints and concerns. Provide counsel and assistance to Membership associates in regard to challenging member matters.
- Work with the Club General Manager and legal team to settle disputes that may arise.
- Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both members and colleagues.
- Possess thorough knowledge of club bylaws, policies and rules - recommend changes, additions or reviews if needed.
- Champion and drive the Fields Ranch culture.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years membership sales experience in a country club environment required. Bachelor’s degree is also preferred.
- Tenured skillset in all aspects of membership management with proven track record of ability to meet sales quotas.
- Demonstrated ability to professionally address unplanned or short-notice issues requiring sound judgment.
- Ability to effectively build and foster a team environment.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, with willingness to travel as business requires.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move moderate weights.
Working Environment:
- Indoor clubhouse facility.
- Occasional travel around property and on courses when needed.
