Job Description
Omni Dallas Convention Center is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join the team of this upscale hotel in the heart of Dallas Texas. This team member will be responsible foresponsible for directing and coordinating all pastry and baking preparation for all hotel outlets and banquets.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction for interviewing, hiring, counseling, training, and disciplining for Pastry associates, in coordination with Human Resources and Executive Chef.
- Schedule production work for associates.
- Controls all food costs and payroll.
- Responsible for purchasing supplies.
- Coordinate production of all baked goods and dessert items ordered by outlets.
- Completes any special requests ordered by outlets or other departments.
- As needed prepare wedding cakes for social functions.
- Coordinate and execute V.I.P. amenities and lobby activations.
Qualifications
- To be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.
- Basic math skills needed to understand and implement recipes and measurements.
- Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Requires repetitive motion.
- Ability to obtain Riverside County Food Handlers Card
- Must be available weekends and holidays.
