Job Description
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASUis seeking anAssistant Food & Beverage Managerto join the pre-opening team of our brand-new upscale hotel. Opening in the spring of 2023, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will provide Tempe with 330 guest rooms and 36,000 square feet of event space and four new food and beverage outlets. Featuring a rooftop upscale restaurant and the largest ballroom in the area, we expect to provide elevated options for our guests for dining and entertainment.
So where does the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager fit in? This role,budgeted to start in April, will assist with leading Neighborhood Services, our three-meal restaurant concept. Working closely with the Restaurant General Manager, we expect that our chosen individual will be highly organized, motivated and polished. This role will be critical to helping build a high-performing team that executes top-tier customer service and creates exceptional unique experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the training of the pre-opening team to Omni and Neighborhood Services expectations.
- Ensure that all associates are well trained in service, safety and potential liabilities.
- Manage expectations of performance of the entire staff.
- Handle guest escalations with exceptional service as required.
- Maintain a winning culture that promotes associate success.
- Ensure that the guest experience is consistent and elevated.
- Manage the restaurant during peak periods of operation.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, following all company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Monitor and critique the quality and consistency of the food product, in conjunction with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef.
- Conduct pre-meal meetings to ensure cohesive service.
- Monitor side-work and restaurant efficiency.
- Check reservations against the VIP list from the front desk and take the necessary steps to create memorable experiences.
- Other responsibilities as required for the successful operation of the restaurant.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years Food & Beverage Management experience, preferably in a luxury 4 diamond hotel. When considering experience, managerial skills, leadership talents, administrative experience and a hospitality professional mindset will be considered.
- Candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing in an upscale Food & Beverage environment; with strong front of the house experience.
- Proven leadership skills which support an environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service.
- Must be service and detail oriented, possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency; to include Microsoft Office and Windows, Micros POS experience preferred.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and lift/push/pull up to 40lbs.
- Must have a TIPS and RASP certification
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
