Together, with our partners, we are enabling the discovery of next-generation therapeutics.About This RoleWe are seeking a part-time Animal Technician who will be responsible for monitoring daily animal health and welfare while performing animal husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of our animals.
We will provide training for the daily tasks of feeding, cleaning and visual welfare checks. The ideal candidate is able to commit to a consistent schedule and is reliable.
This opportunity is well-suited for people looking for a flexible, part-time schedule.This role reports to the Senior Engineer, Animal Facility.
This is an onsite position based out of our Animal Facility in Dixon. The working hours for this position are 2 hours each morning, with flexibility to start between 5am-9am PT.
The number of days per week will be determined based on the candidate’s availability, although we can consider anywhere from 2-7 days (or 4-14 hours) per week.
This role will require flexibility to work on the weekends and holidays as needed based on the determined schedule.What You’ll Do
- Monitor the health and well-being of the animals and provide food and water.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to biosecurity measures.
- Other duties as required.What You Bring
- High School Diploma and English fluency.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to commit to a consistent, part-time schedule.Nice to Have
- Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in animal husbandry.
- Experience with safety requirements and animal handling best practices.The base compensation range for this position is $25-$27 per hour.
