Technical Implementation Manager
The purpose of this position is to provide resources to implement custom interfaces with new and existing customer information systems. These interfaces maximize the usefulness of the Omnicell products and e-commerce solutions by automatically exchanging information with computerized information systems wherever there is a business need for such an exchange. The Technical Implementation Manager is responsible for managing the revenue, timelines, resources, expectations and milestones for Omnicell solution interface implementations.
Responsibilities
- Manage 30 complex interface projects at various stages in the development process.
- Single point of contact for all interface projects.
- Manage all interface conversion projects from inception to end of operation support.
- Address questions from sales and customers regarding all upcoming interface changes/projects of current and potential customers.
- Communicate with the customer to make sure all understand the interface specification and successfully test and support interfaces.
- Assist onsite implementation team by providing resources to install new interface package, test environment (if required) and validate interface connectivity with customer and vendor.
- Communicate and manage any issues relating to the interfaces as they arise during testing and after go-live as part of the interface support.
- Assist with discovery calls for new implementations to help address interface questions and share information.
- Assess scope and timeline prior to PO submission; provide sales with outline of necessary items to quote.
- Manage implementation of interfaces using XSLT, XML and Omnicell’s Interface Services to integrate all Omnicell’s products into the customer’s information systems environment.
- Field all emails/service tickets from help desk that have been escalated and require billable items/T&M.
- Support customer interfaces written by other interface team members to continue development and/or testing.
- Manage the successful implementation/migration of pharmacy system conversions.
- Provide Professional Service staff with go live dates and timelines of interface conversion projects to assist with forecasting; provide weekly updates to ensure forecast remains accurate.
- Keep project tracking systems updated with information about the interfaces and current status.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong project management, presentation, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation/problem solving skills.
- A self-starter who is able to work independently.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to set up and conduct training.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with Healthcare Interface Standards such as HL7 (Health Level 7) and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and strong customer communication skills (written and verbal).
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or Professional Certification in either Information Systems/Technology or Healthcare.
- Minimum three years’ experience in complex project management within a Healthcare or I/T environment.
- Minimum two years’ experience with HL7 Interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience presenting technical material to a large group.
- Experience in managing projects involving HL7 Interfaces.
- Have a working knowledge of multi-threaded programming and understanding of synchronization issues.
Work Conditions
- Remote/home based position.
- Must be available to work during non-business hours, including weekends and holidays to support customer needs.
- Work across multiple time zones.
- May be required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Extended hours in front of a computer using video based technology.
