Translational Associate Scientist I-III
Position Summary:
The position will work as part of the translational research team at OncoC4. The successful candidate will perform laboratory research on preclinical samples, following all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supporting product development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform routine immunological, molecular and cellular assays, cell culture and bioassays and analyze data in Prism and Excel. May also perform critical reagent production, human primary cell isolations and cultivation, ELISA assays and other related cell-based assays. Duties also include recording and reporting results, performing preparation of samples and solutions, and maintenance of equipment.
Essential Functions:
· Collaborate with and support scientists by performing in vivo and in vitro biological experiments in immunology, onco-immunology and neuroscience.
· Execute assays including ELISA, immunohistochemistry (IHC), PCR, binding and saturation assays and functional cell-based assays such as cytotoxicity and phagocytosis.
· Hands-on experience in operating, executing and analyzing experiments using multi-channel flow cytometer
· Isolates nucleic acids and perform real-time PCR
· Independently plans and conducts bioassays
· Organizes data prior to submission. Ensures lab maintenance activities and equipment calibration is performed according to schedule.
· Plans for raw material requirements, maintenance of appropriate inventory of reagents and submission of purchase orders
· Maintains a clean and safe lab environment
· Maintains accurate and detailed documentation
· Carries out other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
· Bachelor's or master’s degree (Biology, Life Sciences or other related discipline)
· 3 years' relevant laboratory experience for bachelor’s degree, 2 years’ experience for more advanced degrees
· Must have experience working and handling laboratory mice including drug administration by intravenous, subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injection.
· Experience working with human samples including PBMCs
· Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
Other Required:
· Requires good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills and willingness to work well in a group environment
· Ability to interact and function in a highly productive work environment
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to follow SOPs and guidance documents
· Must be proficient using Microsoft office, specifically with Excel
Preferred:
· Hands-on experience with spectral flow cytometer
· Experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC) of paraffin embedded tissue
· Experience with neurodegenerative disease models and assays
· Knowledge of GCP and GLP
