Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater is seeking a Triage LPN or a experienced Medical Assistant with 5 years with a positive spirit to join our team and to help drive patient success in our community. Snapshot of Daily Duties:
This position is onsite not a remote position.
- Assess, evaluate, and discern patient acuity; secure patient appointment consistent with telephonic evaluation and clinician-driven guidelines. Seek clinician input wherever needed and provides patient education and instruction when necessary.
- Act as a conduit between clinician and patient to facilitate refill requests, relay test results, and answer general clinical questions as guided by clinicians.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient response(s). Record data in a neat and organized manner, including but not limited to, chart entries, documentation, or internal/external communication.
- Assist clinicians with management of office visits when needed.
- Comply with adverse event reporting and patient privacy policies.
The Must Haves:
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant Membership in local, state, and national societies is encouraged.
- Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Solid nursing background, concentration, or willingness to obtain advanced knowledge in GI specialty.
- Priority setting, application of judgment, communication skill and tact.
- Five (5) years nursing experience is preferred.
