The Modeling Actuary is responsible for maintaining models associate within the Bermuda Monetary Authority framework. This associate will work with team members and other stakeholders to build and modify models to meet ever changing regulations and business needs. The Actuary will help take the models and use them to help provide insight into our business. Additionally, as model development is key to our enterprise as we forecast assets and liabilities out for several decades in the future. This position will help drive transformative improvements in our Actuarial and Actuarial Asset/Liability modeling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Improve existing models, which includes making optimal use of available functionality, increasing efficiency, ensuring compliance with enterprise modeling standards, and ensuring compliance with the Bermuda regulations and requirements
• Create new models: convert from current systems to new system; onboard new products; comply with new regulations
• Assist in troubleshooting model issues and unexpected results
• Assist in planning and prioritizing model improvements; execute on the plan
• Assist in modeling business objectives
• Help ensure optimal use of actuarial modeling systems; be resource for enterprise for modeling software

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/BA in math, actuarial science, economics, or related fields
• Attainment of SOA ASA required, FSA designation preferred.
• 7-10 years of insurance industry experience preferred
• Experience with actuarial modeling software (Prophet, ALFA, GGY-Axis)
• Experience with Microsoft Excel & VBA
• Knowledge of Bermuda regulations and requirements ideal, but not required
• Ability to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to solve complex problems and cross-functionally collaborate in achieving enterprise goals
• Proven experience articulating complex data to both a technical & non-technical audience.
• Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 06C

As a condition of employment, OneAmerica requires that all new hires who receive a job offer on or after April 18, 2022 provide evidence of full or partial vaccination against COVID-19 within three days of accepting an offer letter with OneAmerica and before employment begins. This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
