Oneida ESC Group has an immediate open for a Corporate Health and Safety Manager in our Milwaukee office. This position is a critical role for the growth of the company and the safety of its employees and the public. The Manager will oversee health and safety for the entire company and will actively participate in building sustainable futures. RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of and reporting to the Senior Vice President, the key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strive to provide safe and healthy workplaces for staff, customers, visitors, and the public such that our goal of zero injuries is achieved
- Identify and develop mitigations for safety hazards in the workplace
- Maintain a detailed working knowledge of and ensure compliance with federal and state OSHA regulations, US DOD safety regulations including EM 385-1-1, and other client-specific safety requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor corporate health and safety policies, programs and plans
- Ensure compliance with corporate health and safety policies, programs, and plans
- Review and approve project-specific health and safety plans
- Provide technical expertise and advice to field teams on safe work practices including methods and selection of equipment and PPE
- Review reports of emergencies, injuries, and accidents; investigate and determine the root cause(s) and report these to upper management along with proposed corrective actions
- Increase health and safety awareness across all levels and departments of the organization
- Conduct safety inspections of the workplace periodically to review safety procedures and equipment and identify/mitigate hazards observed
- Coordinate and provide necessary safety training and orientation for employees
- Maintain good relations and coordination with operations staff, management, and external parties to maximize safety and minimize risks
- Lead and assist colleagues at all levels in fostering a safe and healthy workplace
- Prepare annual budgets for the corporate health and safety management function
- Prepare, review, and update appropriate sections of the company's emergency procedures manual
ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE

- Ten or more years of experience
- Certified Safety Professional CSP
- Trained in EM 385 -1-1
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, DOD and customer-specific environment, health and safety regulations including OSHA HAZWOPER
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Competent and goal-oriented with experience in health and safety management
- Excellent leadership and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and job tasks
- Ability to complete projects within required deadlines
- Ability to assess and predict potential risks and recommend corrective measures
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Ability to handle a high stress, emergency, fast paced environment

- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficient with the MS Office suite of software and environmental monitoring equipment typically used on HAZWOPER sites
