Our client, a growing oil and gas operating company is seeking a Landman/Sr. Landman to help them operate and grow their oil and gas production. Position is an "in house" direct hire Landman position. Position is open due to natural progression of incumbent Sr. Landman electing to retire.
Company operates in the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. Coastal State waters with active production and drilling programs. Position offers a competitive salary/bonus plan along with a very nice benefits package along with other stability/perks.
Ideal experience is a degreed oil and gas Landman with 5 years' of oil and gas operating company experience with production and drilling operations in Offshore Gulf of Mexico and or U.S. Coastal State waters.
More detailed daily functions of the position may include:
- Coordinate the acquisition of oil and gas leases and title work Identify title defects and obtain necessary curative documents
- Support in-house title by gathering, organizing and analyzing documents
- Review work regarding legal and financial obligations
- Communicate with internal Regulatory Department as needed to meet agency reporting requirements
- Conduct land/lease/contract research Process and Perform due diligence on Right- of- Way documents
- Research and document farmouts, leases, rights-of-way, joint ventures and other types of oil and gas agreements Land Reports
- Provide assistance to the drilling and operations staff
- Buy leases and negotiate deals
- Experienced in exploration and production business and well versed in all types of transactions, including but not limited to farm-ins, farm-outs, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, swaps, etc.
