Overview

Summit Materials is looking for a safety-oriented Hot Plant Manager to manager all site activities, to include maximizing production, overseeing maintenance, and maintaining appropriate reporting. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, organized individual that takes pride and ownership in their areas of responsibility ultimately elevating the overall operations and team productivity.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Site Manager is responsible for ALL site activities.
  • Responsible for the Health and Welfare of the crew and ensuring the site meets or exceeds OSHA Standards
  • Responsible for the administration of the Summit Safety Principles
  • Responsible for obtaining the maximum production at the plant
  • Ensures that quality products are being produced within internal and external specifications
  • Enters timecards, maintenance logs, production logs, etc. into computer system
  • Makes a Plant Maintenance and Production Program
  • Makes the Daily Production and Maintenance Schedule (including but not limited to daily maintenance projects and mix production as need based on sales)
  • Parts requisitions
  • Coordinates with Outside Contractors on Equipment Repairs as needed
  • Coordinates with the Shop on Mobile Equipment Repairs
  • Responsible for Knowing the Site Financials and Achieving Budget Goals
  • Coordinates with Area Manager to Ensure Production Plan and Maintenance Plan is Being Executed Correctly
  • Coordinates with Paving Forman to provide correct quantities and quality of HMA
  • Scheduling of Crew based on Production and Maintenance needs within Available Operating Hours
  • Example of Integrity, Initiative, Communication, Autonomy and Accountability
  • MSHA Training as required (Part 46)
  • Site Specific Training, including site inspection training
  • Task training applicable Equipment
    • Weekly Planner Forecasted
    • Weekly Site Inspection
    • Weekly Equipment Inspection
    • Maintenance logs
    • Production logs
      • Daily Update the Weekly Planner to provide Actual Data
      • Daily Timecards and Production Entered into Computer before 10 AM
      • Daily Oversee inspection and repair of ALL equipment
      • Daily Verify required daily and monthly plant inspections were completed
      • Operation of Equipment as needed
  • Equipment is to be operated in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operator shall always maintain control of the equipment.
  • Operator shall not idle equipment when not in use. Turn it off.
  • Cab shall be kept clean, wiped down and maintained
