Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Installing, operating, maintaining and repairing communications equipment such as digital and analog carrier and switching systems, private line and special services circuits, microwave and associated equipment, trunking equipment, fiber optics systems, alarm systems, test equipment, etc.
Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on computer systems, digital switches, digital switching networks, and computer peripheral equipment.
Interpreting schematical work order drawings to determine job specifications, material and equipment requirements and establish a plan of operation.
Splices, terminates, connects, cuts off and removes cables, station service drops and wires, cross-connect wires, pressure pipes and conduits, terminals, blocks, frames, protectors, carrier repeaters, flowrates, pressure manifolds, transducers, dams, loading coils, capacitors, build-out lattices, amplifiers, splitters, multiplexers, power inducers, etc.
Operates standard and aerial lift vehicles and manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, electronic, gasoline, propane and power actuated tools and equipment.
Working indoors and outdoors, potentially in adverse weather conditions and rough terrain.
Climbing ladders, working aloft, working in confined spaces and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 75 lbs.
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

You know outside plant and construction and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work on America’s fastest and most reliable network. You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things. You know that the whole team needs to work together to win—and you take pride in a job well done.
You’ll need to have:
Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to obtain a valid State of Hawaii Class A CDL within the first 4 months of hire.
Relevant telecommunications field experience in construction, installing and maintaining of outside plant, operating heavy equipment safely and interpreting drawings.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Even better if you have:
Related Associate Degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.
