Role Summary/Purpose:
We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead our Connectivity Engineering Team and its products within our Connectivity organization. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, have experience working in a matrixed environment with technical engineering and development teams, strong project management and Agile skills with a focus on core routing and switching products. The candidate should have a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and with low business impact. This position will report to the VP, Connectivity Product Management Leader.

Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as technical Product Owner for connectivity products
Cisco Routers/Switches
Equinix Network Edge services
Aviatrix Cloud Networking
Apcon infrastructure.
Provide leadership and forward thinking of connectivity services to support both internal and external requirements
Lead engineering objectives for the deployment and servicing of connectivity solutions
Partner with engineering and business teams to resolve connectivity issues, solve business needs and drive outcomes.
Plan and manage technology lifecycle events – end of life, end of support for supported products.
Manage and maintain connectivity engineering standards for supported products
Serve as owner for team technical job aids
Maintain product certification for supported products
Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate business needs and translate them into product requirements
Defining the vision and road map for the connectivity products
Create product road maps based on product vision
Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements
Overseeing all stages of product creation including design and development
Developing user stories
Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 10 years of Project Management and/or product based experience
A minimum of 2 years of Agile project management experience, preferably IT Project Management
2 years of experience leading engineering projects
Desired Characteristics:
Strong background of enterprise networking for both internal and external connectivity servicing
Strong background in connectivity technologies such as Cisco routers/switches, circuit technologies, AWS/Azure Public Cloud, DNS and firewalls.
Knowledge and background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Python 3.x, Ansible and Terraform
Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment
Understanding of GIT source control management
High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills and experience working with external clients & technical development teams.
Ability to adapt to varying scenarios and cater presentations and style based on the audience
Experience with Agile software development framework, acting in the Product Owner role
Experience in the credit card or financial services industry
Curiosity and passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation
Self-aware and adaptable
Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners
Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions
Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of mobile devices and applications
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
