What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant position at Onslow Memorial Hospital?
PTA will be responsible for skilled evaluation and treatment of persons of all ages with neurological, general medical or musculoskeletal disorders or conditions that limit physical function, activities of daily living, and mobility. PTA will plan, organize and direct patient participation (under supervision of a licensed physical therapist) in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance and facilitate the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation, productivity and health maintenance. Will treat, educate and counsel patients and families as appropriate, regarding physical, mental and/or developmental disabilities. Participation in training medical personnel and students may be requested. PTA will be required to adhere to organizational mission, standards and policies and practice in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
Graduate of accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistants, licensure in North Carolina, and CPR certification. Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, and/or skilled nursing is preferred. Must be able to conduct physical therapy programs under the supervision of a physical therapist. Must have knowledge of age specific issues of growth and development is required. Conditions of employment include successful reference checks, pre-employment health screens and criminal background checks.
