We are hiring a Business Unit Leader to join our Chatsworth, CA operation. What will you be doing? This position reports to Ontic Chatsworth’s General Manager and is responsible for the Business unit P&L. This position works closely with all functional areas of the business such as Estimating, Customer Service, Contracts, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality. This role is accountable for achieving the business unit revenue, profit and organic growth.   What Experience, Knowledge, Education are we Looking for? Development of commercial plan which include FN & MRO · Monitor daily quote activity with customers/prospects for your product line(s) Help in all major pricing decisions (i.e. catalogs, individual RFQ’s, proposals) · Identify, develop and close sales opportunities with your product line(s) · Accelerate the timing and size of sales transactions that may otherwise happen well into the future · Work with customers to identify sales opportunities, improve customer service, develop the product line, discuss technical issues, discuss repair/overhaul issues, discuss product and service quality, etc. · Monitor and maintain the profitability of your product line, managing both price and costs. · Recommend specific inventory levels (safety stock, min/max, forecast orders, etc.) to drive sales and responsible use of working capital and cash. · Lead regular daily meeting with cross functional departments to ensure that your product line is being attended to well (i.e. quality, on-time delivery, costs, priority within the shop, etc.). · Ability to set priorities for a cross functional team that has an indirect reporting relationship. · Ability to achieve budget and stretch targets (i.e. revenue, profitability, on-time delivery, RFQ turn-time, etc.) · Pro-actively resolve customer concerns and escalate as necessary in support of building and maintaining high levels of Customer Satisfaction. · Continuous improvement of business unit and enterprise processes. · Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties in a matrix environment. · Hold productive team meetings with clear action items and deliverables. · Support annual budget and periodic forecast process. · Play an active role in business development by partnering with the sales and marketing teams to build a healthy customer backlog. · Responsibly for team talent and performance management.   Qualifications: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role. · Aerospace industry experience, working with commercial and/or military customers and MRO specifically electronic aerospace products (i.e. avionics, aircraft power distribution, IFE, weapons system controls, radar or flight controls, radar or navigation system, etc.) · At least 4 years of experience working directly with aerospace customers, preferably as a Program Manager, Contracts Administrator, Customer Service lead or Sales manager · Ability for some business travel through the year (10% - 20%). EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: · Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, economics, finance, industrial management, marketing, organization and & management or procurement · MBA preferable What Benefits Do We Offer?
