POSITION SUMMARY:
Opaa! Food Management, Inc. has been operating in the K-12 segment of the food service industry for over 40 years. The Graphic Designer position contributes to the visual aspects of Opaa’s employer branding identity and information across various media. This position serves a range of internal clients by designing and implementing print, digital, and graphic design solutions.
Essential Functions
• InDesign skills to produce complex growth, operations, and internal support materials: Hierarchy of text and images, application of style guides, formatting, spell checking, etc. for a variety of documents.
• Expert Photoshop and Illustrator skills to deliver new brand development, style guide lead asset development, internal/external communications, and other graphic design projects.
• Commitment to and consistent ability to meet project deadlines, while managing multiple priorities.
• Work on creating content and proofreading to ensure proper grammar, message consistency, and brand voice for all documents.
• Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
• Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop.
• Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
• Create printed marketing material such as catering menus, information pamphlets, point of sale material, special program information material
• Create graphic material used in presentations (i.e. power point) for sales process, training presentations, Leadership conference, etc.
• Assists in the design and development of graphics and templates for web and written content
• Responsible to incorporate current design trends into each unique layout to produce an up-to-date style for custom marketing materials
• Utilize strong written skills and bring effective visual ideas from concept through to completion
• Provide oversight and mentorship to departmental intern
• Other duties assigned
Education: Bachelor’s in graphic design
Experience:
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferred.
• Experience as a graphic designer or in related field.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign Quark, and Illustrator.
• A strong eye for visual composition.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
• Experience with computer-aided design.
