What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Plasterer position at opcmia?
Responsibilities:
- Apply plaster, stucco, or similar materials to walls, ceilings, or other surfaces
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, smoothing, and leveling
- Mix and apply plaster or stucco using hand tools or mechanical sprayers
- Create decorative finishes by applying coats of plaster or stucco in various textures and patterns
- Repair cracks, holes, or other damage in existing plaster or stucco surfaces
- Install metal stud framing for plasterboard or other wall materials
- Tile laying and installation as needed
- Concrete finishing as needed
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as carpenters and estimators to complete projects
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a plasterer or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of plastering techniques and materials
- Proficient in metal stud framing and concrete finishing
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
