The Position
The Accountant will be responsible for various activities in the month end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations and generating financial reports. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller to ensure the financials are accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
- Execute mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification, enabling senior staff to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives.
- Coordinating with business units for inter-company transactions. Sending timely intercompany invoices and booking the entries accordingly; confirming inter-company balances with business units during the month-end process.
- Assist in the management of accounts payable. Audit all invoices entered and obtain payment approval.
- Will assist with Accounts Receivables, managing incoming payments, properly tracking them into the system to maintain accurate bookkeeping records, assisting in collecting payments from customers, and providing internal AR reporting.
- Ensure that internal controls are followed and assist in identifying any shortfalls
- Perform various ad hoc analysis and reports
Experience
- 3 years accounting experience and a bachelor's degree in related discipline; or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Excellent computer systems skills which include: MS-Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), G-Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Gmail, Google Drive, cloud-based accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite), Expensify, bill.com.
- Experience with an ERP and CRM module preferred
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
