The Software Revenue Accounting Manager will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional organization and will undertake responsibilities that enable business transformation and growth in a publicly traded technology company. The Manager would thrive in a role that requires building cross-functional relationships with the Accounting, Commercial, and Professional Services functions to establish and drive a disciplined project review and reporting cadence. The candidate should exemplify the following characteristics: accountability, detail-oriented, and customer focused – in a role that is very actively involved and requires a high level of engagement. Through our business transformation there is a focus on Revenue and separating Performance Obligations under ASC Topic 606 – Contracts with Customers. Specific on-the-job training will be provided. Your Impact As our Software Revenue Accounting Manager your responsibilities will include: Work with Professional Services / Project Management Office (PMO) leadership to set project budgets, and profile costs and revenue recognition. Build and maintain dynamic models to forecast revenue, separate performance obligations, and phasing of professional services backlog. Manage internal reporting of order-to-revenue cycle for various customers and set of books. Lead revenue close process, including project accounting, for close cycle, recurring reporting, and audits Evaluating the various Performance Obligations of the business under ASC 606 and ensuring the proper application of those standards for revenue recognition Review and understand customer / project contract language to determine application of revenue recognition methodology and applicable documentation. Improve automation of accounting and reporting processes with adherence to internal control requirements in a SOX environment - Support the integration of a new Revenue Management System. Supervise Project Accounting (1) and Order Management (1) Accountants. What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field from an accredited university. 8 years of progressive accounting experience in a publicly traded organization. Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles. Process oriented with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel formulas, pivot tables, charts and advanced data modeling skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate an open dialogue with a wide variety of contributors and stakeholders. Proven history of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to changing needs of business while continuing to meet deadlines. Preferred CPA.
