About the Role
OpenFin is growing and we are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join us! The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions as well as performing complex accounting needs. The person in this seat will take the lead on working with external bookkeeping resources, reviewing financial statements, and building audit schedules. They will also assist in monthly close and management reporting, along with other duties as assigned by the Controller and the VP - Finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead close process for both the balance sheet and income statement using multiple financial systems and review them with the Controller and VP - Finance
- Prepare documentation and responses for external Auditors in both the US and UK
- Analyze financial statements frequently for discrepancies and alert the VP - Finance with any findings as needed
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Work with an external bookkeeping team to ensure proper entries and any required training
- Ensure AP and AR functions are moving smoothly, timely, and efficiently
- Create and maintain financial schedules for the Board of Directors
- Other duties may be assigned
We’re looking for Colleagues with
- Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, including working closely with Financial Statements, along with AP and AR functions
- Experience managing an external bookkeeping team to hit close and other important financial deadlines
- Required experience with accounting systems common to smaller business such as Ordway, Quickbooks, Xero, or similar software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with intercompany accounts
- Ability to solve problems across all of the Accounting functions
- Proficient in spreadsheet software including Google Sheets and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with fast growing companies
- CPA or equivalent strongly desired
