GENERAL DESCRIPITION:
The individual in this helpdesk support position is responsible for helping to maintain the Electronic Healthcare Record software (Avatar by Netsmart) used within the supported agencies. They will be the liaison between the user and the IT department. When needed they will assist the tech and network teams. They will perform data entry work, which includes data entry building and modifications (forms, reports, queries) in the Avatar EHR system, FASAMS State Reporting support, and other special data projects as they arise. Individuals should be self-motivated and must be able to produce a high volume of detailed data entry with speed and accuracy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Customer service experience is recommended, and support helpdesk experience is highly recommended
- Knowledge of computer processes
- Some knowledge of clinical operations is helpful, and knowledge of computer processes is required.
- This position requires an excellent customer service skillset, patience, listening skills, and organizational and prioritization talent.
- Excellent people skills are an asset in this position. Specialist will participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Forms development and modifications within the EHR system.
- Troubleshooting and technical support of EHR errors and corrections which can include computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices for PCs and other IT Department equipment across all of the agencies.
- Responds to Help Desk Requests and solves EHR/ software problems and resolves or assesses the extent of the problem, which may require outside support and/or travel.
- Provide technical support to users experiencing software problems which include software installation, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintenance including network/phone/ video support.
- Works closely with all staff to assure accurate and timely submission of state data requirements including correcting any Outcomes data as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit at a keyboard/desk for extended periods of time
- Be able to differentiate between colors for screen definition
- Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects or tools, speak and hear employees
- Employee must be able to frequently lift/move objects up to 50 or more pounds
